Try Some Rubbers To Make You A Man Of Steel.

No I don’t mean like that. I mean build some rock hard muscles.

Working out in the gym is great for building strength and muscle. Heavy iron is responsible for some of the best physiques of all time.

But there is another way to pack on solid rippling flesh.

Most of us have owned Chest Expanders/Bullworkers with steel springs at one time or another and had great results from them. Then one day we go to the gym and see everyone working out with iron and think “that is the ‘only’ way to do it”.

Nowadays you can get chest expanders with rubber strands instead of steel. These have fewer disadvantages (i.e. pinched chest hairs) and are lighter.

Many of the old time strongmen performed feats of strength and set records for strand pulling.

Exercising with traditional weights, the resistance is the same throughout the exercise but, with springs and strands the resistance increases as it stretches.

This will work the muscles in a totally different way, starting with very low resistance and increasing as you get to your strongest point.

Want To Add A New Twist?

How about a few sets of slow motion exercises. These can be done with iron or strands.

You will need to reduce your regular resistance by at least 30%. Now do the exercise in slow motion so that it takes 10 seconds to lift the weight and 5 to lower it again. Aim for 3 sets of 8 reps, each to total failure.

When I say total failure I mean it. If you can finish a rep it is not total failure. Total failure is when you get part way through a rep and can not go any further. At failure point do not just stop, try for 4 seconds more to move the resistance before slowly lowering back to starting point.

If you can complete 3 sets of 8 reps then it is time to increase the resistance by 10%. If you can not complete the first set of eight in slow motion educe the weight so you can do at least 2 of the 3 sets for eight reps.

Do the exercise in perfect form without using any other cheating moves, if you do a curl, just use your biceps, not your hips or back.

You can perform many exercises with a set of strands and keep in shape when you can not get out to the gym.

With a little imagination you can do a variety of exercises in addition to the standard chest pulls.

You can put one foot in one of the handles to do one arm curls or upright rowing.

You can hold a handle behind your back and do overhead presses or tricep extensions.

Hold a handle by your abs to do lateral side raises.

Now There Is A New Kid On The Block And The Name Is Bodylastics.

Bodylastics are different sized rubber strands of varying resistance and you can exercise each body part with any resistance.

They come with, a door anchor that can be used on most doors at any height, 2 hand grips and 2 ankle straps.

With a little thought you can emulate any exercise you can do in the gym (and a few you can’t). The Bodylastics website shows 140 different exercises.

What about the times when you cant get to the gym? Bodylastics are light at less than 2 pounds weight and can easily be packed in your hand luggage when travelling.

Bodylastics absolutely works. After only a few short weeks of using Bodylastics you will discover improvements in muscle building, toning, posture and confidence.

As with any new program it is recommended that you start slowly and build up gradually as you gain experience. Even Arnold had to start with low weights and learn from more experienced bodybuilders.

This article is provided as entertainment and no responsibility can be taken for loss or injuries incurred during physical exercise. If you have not undertaken any form of exercise for a while, please consult your doctor before starting any new exercise program.

Fitness is not a competition with anyone else. It is just for you, so find what you enjoy and go have some fun.

What is Depression: Some New Light on the Old Blues?

| Articles | January 30, 2014

Right now, 20 million Americans are in the midst of an episode of depression.

Some have the incapacitating symptoms of what doctors call a major depression. These symptoms usually require professional attention because they are very severe and demoralizing. Feeling hopeless and worthless, a person with major depression may sleep and eat irregularly.

In the throes of severe depression, it is hard to concentrate, make decisions, or find the energy to do much of anything. Thoughts of suicide are common.

Depression primarily refers to a state of mind that is purely negative, with an inclination to insufficiency and a hopeless lack of interest to do things.

If someone has a minor depression, however, the problem is more manageable. Experts say that people who have some minor depression will feel lousy about themselves and lousy about their lives, but they are managing to function at a high level.

In fact, some of the newfound ways of battling the blues are related to what you do as well as what you feel. Here are some ways that you can prepare your body to help prevent minor depression:

1. Put some spring in your step.

Regular exercise may be the most powerful natural antidepressant available. It is advisable that you take a brisk walk. Exercise helps generate the release of brain chemicals called endorphins. When endorphin levels are low, depression occurs. Exercise also oxygenates the brain, keeping it healthy.

How much should you exercise? Thirty minutes, five or six days a week, at moderate intensity, is a nice level to aim for to help prevent the brain imbalances that can make you vulnerable to depression.

2. Nourish your brain.

Virtually any nutrient deficiency can result in impaired mental function, including depression. To help prevent depression, health experts recommend that people should take high-potency multivitamins or mineral supplement. This will supply the brain with enough nutrients in order to keep it properly functioning and, thus, avoid some mental disorders such as depression.

3. Get enough sleep.

Getting less than eight hours of sleep, night after night, may lower levels of the brain chemical known as “serotonin,” which can make you more prone to depression. To sleep well, health practitioners recommend going to bed and waking up at the same time every day, including weekends.

Relax before bedtime, perhaps with a hot bath. And for the soundest sleep, keep your bedroom quiet and dark.

4. Consider some alternate explanations.

Your emotions, positive or negative, are created not by situations themselves, but by the way you interpret those situations. A very common situation can turn into a reason for hand wringing unless you take mental steps to prevent it.

Suppose a friend is going to pick you up so that the two of you can go somewhere and do something fun together. Now, suppose that time passes, and your friend does not arrive to get you. Your feelings change, quite literally, from moment to moment. If at first you think of your friend as being insensitive and irresponsible, you will find yourself feeling angry at him. If you think that perhaps something bad has happened to him, you will naturally become concerned. If you think that this person does not care much about you and that is why he is late, you feel rejected, lonely, even depressed.

Although the situation does not change, and that your friend is still delayed, you can have a whole range of feelings depending on how you interpret that event.

For this reason, experts contend that situations are usually ambiguous, open to any interpretation. Hence, your interpretation helps create your feelings about the situation. Positive interpretations lead to good feelings and enjoyment; negative interpretations lead to bad feelings and depression. To stay on the positive side, try to look for the positive interpretations.

Indeed, depressions can be very destructive if neglected. Hence, the best way to stop the development of depression is to always put a bright light on the blues and create a positive outlook in life.

What Your Kids Feel About Divorce

| Articles | January 28, 2014

Face it. Not all relationships last forever. Some are meant to last, and there are those that are simply short-lived. Even marriage is not excluded from the dramas and hassles of breaking up. When married couples finally call it quits, that is when the subject of divorce comes in.

However, when married couples agree to pursue a divorce, the decision is oftentimes based on their emotions and not by logical thinking. Many people tend to become emotional when facing a divorce; they are not entirely thinking or taking into consideration the effects of their decision, especially upon their children.

Soon-to-be-separated couples with no children are lucky, for the process of divorce will be a lot easier for them. Apart from the hassle of haggling with lawyers and surviving the emotional stress of the entire divorce process, parents with children still need to think about the welfare of their kids. In fact, the children should be the first thing that parents should consider when thinking about ending their marriage.

For some couples who intend to get a divorce, they sometimes forget to ask their kids how they feel about it. They fail to see that their children may experience emotional abuse on the entire divorce process. With the separation as a start of a new life for divorced parents, they should try to know their new responsibilities, and this include trying their very best to protect their kids from the negative effects of divorce.

The following are the common effects of divorce on children:

1. The child may feel fear and anxiety on the issue of divorce.

If the children are too young to understand the concept of divorce, then it is most likely that understanding and accepting the whole situation will be a lot easier. However, if teenagers or adolescents are the ones involved, then divorced parents may have to deal with more serious emotional issues. It is possible for teens to be afraid or be anxious about the whole divorce process. They may feel ashamed and conscious on how their peers may react on their new family status or they may scared and unsure of what the future lies for them.

2. The child may feel torn between two parents.

It is very common among divorce issues wherein the child may feel torn between his parents. Divorced couples oftentimes overlook this trauma on their children, for they become obsessed about whom their child should spend the most time with. The child, of course, may feel guilty when choosing between his parents whom he both loved and respected.

To protect children from the negative effects of divorce, parents should:

1. Try to be selective and careful about the information they share with their children.

Remember that every child has different ways to cope with their parents’ divorce. Some may take it lightly and others may take it very seriously. This commonly happens when the parents themselves fail to spare their kids from the dirty works of the divorce. Hence, it is best not to include the children in the issues the divorce process.

2. Always be available whenever their child needs them.

Although the divorce requires a lot of time and attention, parents should not forget to spend more time with their children. It is a must for parents to be always present whenever their child wants to talk to them.

What you should know before you buy Steroids

| Articles | January 28, 2014

Steroids are basically derivatives of various hormones. These synthetic substances find extensive medical use and have been integrated into the field of medicine since the early 1930s. Steroids are highly popular with sportspeople and teenagers due to their ability to effectively enhance strength and boost growth in short periods of time.

However, many sportsmen prefer to overdose themselves with steroids and this leads to various undesirable side effects. Hence, many countries including the United States of America have imposed severe restrictions on the manufacture, distribution and intake of these substances. Many nations also list them as “controlled drugs”.

Currently, steroids can also be bought in specific “steroid stacks”. These are synergic combinations of two or more steroids which can perform multiple functions such as increasing muscle growth as well as reducing extra flab considerably.

The most commonly used steroid hormones include Anadrol, Clenbuteral, Deca-Durabolin, Anavar, Dianabol etc. The derivatives of these are presently sold in various stacks and are extremely popular in the fields of sports and bodybuilding. Various derivative steroids are manufactured to serve different needs including instant strength and muscle building. Perhaps the most incredibly popular use is the fat-reducing properties of Clenbuteral which are known to work almost instantly.

Although, anabolic steroids are highly beneficial and effective, extreme caution needs to be exercised when buying them. Drugs, as a whole, cannot be taken lightly and the user must do his research before attempting to buy or use them. Many common side-effects of anabolic steroids are elevated blood pressure, increase in acne, liver damage, cardiovascular complications etc. Hence, it is unwise to purchase steroids unless accordingly prescribed by medical professionals.

One other point to be considered is legal issues concerning anabolic steroids. These are banned by almost all major sports bodies and athletes found guilty of steroid injection may be banned from competition permanently.

Buy Steroids

Anabolic-Androgenic Steroids or AAS are a class of steroids widely recognized for instant strength and growth enhancement. These steroids, although manufactured for purely medical purposes, are extensively used in sports and bodybuilding as well. Their basic medical uses include artificial bone growth, puberty induction, appetite improvement and maintenance of male sexual characteristics.

Unfortunately, many sportsmen choose to take unnecessarily large doses to enhance their performance and end up with many harmful side effects. The most damaging side effects include: Premature infertility, undesirable enlargement of sexual organs, unnatural and instant increase in blood pressure, elevated acne, disturbance in catabolism cycles, violent behavior, liver damage and heart complications.

However, when used in the right way, these substances can prove to be invaluable in training and performance in sports and athletic competition. Clenbuteral, a famous steroid class, is known to burn fat and thus reduce bodyweight almost instantly. It also helps muscle building and is the choice of many bodybuilders. Deca-Durabolin, another type of steroids, is capable of increasing bodyweight and strength without adding to bodyweight. Very often, steroids are consumed in “stacks” which are specific combinations of the drugs. These stacks are designed to perform multiple functions like increasing muscle mass while burning body fat at the same time.

Anyone looking to buy anabolic steroids must realize the dangers associated with their usage. Most importantly, their side-effects need to be considered and the buyer must seek professional help regarding dosage. Also, due to overuse, many countries have now classified anabolic steroids as “controlled drugs”. It is an offence across the globe to possess anabolic steroids without sufficient permission or a valid prescription. Moreover, major sports organizations including the Olympics, FIFA, NHL, NFL etc. have imposed a ban on the use of steroids.

Illegal dealers have also entered the “steroid” market and buyers are advised to be extra careful when choosing legitimate distributors. Any dealings with illegal agents may lead to serious legal trouble.

Steroids are synthetic hormones that serve the purpose of treating various medical conditions. Anabolic steroids are a version of testosterone, the male hormone, and upon their discovery, were used to treat puberty delays, infertility and low testosterone levels. With further research, scientists concluded that they could also use these steroids for treating chronic wasting conditions caused by cancer or AIDS. But as the years rolled by, researchers concluded that steroids had the ability to increase anabolism and could stimulate cell growth. Thus, they began finding use whenever bone or muscle growth needed to be stimulated.

But, many sportsmen, bodybuilders, models, highschoolers etc. began purchasing these steroids in large quantities to help them gain muscle and strength faster. Later, certain steroids were manipulated to serve even fat burning and weight gaining needs. The major steroids on sale are: Anadrol, Clenbuterol, Deca-Durabolin, Anavar, Dianabol and Winstrol. Though there are many others, these dominate the entire anabolic steroid market as they serve the purposes of aspiring bodybuilders and athletes.

To further aid sportsmen, steroid companies now sell various “stacks” of steroids. These are combinations of two or more steroids which are consumed at once to provide combined effects. Some common stacks are: Ultimate cutting stack, strength stack, competition stack etc. Steroids used in stacks have amazing capabilities such as burning fat instantly and adding many pounds of muscle at the same time.

However, many athletes choose to buy steroids and dose themselves without any form of proper medical guidance. What happens in these cases is a load of harmful side-effects that occur due to steroid overdose. This is the major problem with steroids today. In order to prevent overdose, sporting organizations like the Olympics, FIFA etc. have put bans on the use of steroids. Also, many countries have imposed restrictions on the manufacture and sale of anabolic steroids.

Steroids can be found on sale both online and offline. However, it is wise to buy them only upon medical prescription.

Steroids for sale

Steroids are synthetic derivatives of hormones which serve various medical treatment purposes. Anabolic steroids are derived from the testosterone hormone, which gives them the ability to enhance muscle and bone growth through manipulation of protein synthesis in cells, reduce extra fat instantly and increase the strength and performance of the body.

Initially, steroids were developed as natural medicines and doctors used them for curing low testosterone levelss. Later on, it was discovered that they could be converted into synthetic drugs and doctors began to use them in chronic waste treatment of Cancer and HIV/AIDS. As research carried on, scientists found that steroids had the amazing ability to boost growth instantly and add significantly to strength. Not only this, they were could also be used for burning down excess fat.

As soon as this news surfaced, people began purchasing steroids. Sportsmen considered steroids a boon for their careers and continued to buy them extensively in their obsession to emerge on top. Steroids like Clenbuterol, Deca-Durabolin, Dianabol, Equipoise, Anadrol, Winstrol, Trenbolone, etc. did and still do account for a large portion of steroid sales. These drugs are sold in stacks, or specific combinations, like the cutting stack, competition stack, strength stack, etc. These steroids have been found to have remarkable capabilities of increasing adding strength, speed and even muscle mass in short periods of time. Some of them could even increase the muscle growth and strength considerably without adding any bodyweight. It is also very common to use steroids for burning fat and curing injuries immediately.

Unfortunately, all of these benefits led to immense abuse of steroids in the form of overdose. Such overdose without medical guidance leads to a variety of harmful repercussions which include infertility, emotional imbalances, severe damage to the liver, premature baldness, increased acne levels, Impotence, enlarged breasts in men due to imbalance in estrogen levels, deepening of voice and enlargement of the clitoris in women, elevated blood pressure, increased LDL cholesterol levels etc. These side effects sometimes even took the life of sportsmen who’d become steroid addicts.

To prevent these disasters, many countries have imposed restrictions on the manufacture and sale of steroids

Steroids are for sale both online and offline. One can purchase them online or from legitimate and licensed dealers. It is illegal in some countries to purchase anabolic steroids without prescription.

What You Should Know About Lasik Eye Surgery

| Articles | January 26, 2014

Lasik eye surgery has been big news on the vision front. With many people flocking to have the procedure done it has become one of the most popular eye surgeries. The idea that lasik is a solution for anyone with bad vision also proves that much is unknown about lasik. Before committing to the surgery patients should look into what lasik is and what it can do for vision.

Lasik stands for laser-assisted in Situ Keratomileusis. Lasik is where the surgeon cuts a small flap in the cornea and then uses a laser to reshape the inner area of the cornea. The cornea can be related to many vision issues. Myopia (nearsightedness), Hyperopia (farsightedness), and Astigmatism can all be solved through lasik eye surgery.

Before getting lasik a patient is examined by their eye doctor. During the examination pictures of the cornea will be taken to see what corrections need to be made. The overall health of the patient and patient’s eyes are also considered when deciding if a person is a good lasik candidate. Any conditions, such as dry eye syndrome, may affect a persons ability to get lasik.

After lasik the patient can go home and within a few days is usually recovered enough to resume daily routine activities. Most people experience success and will see clearly right after the surgery. Some people may experience side effects like night time vision problems and light sensitivity. Rare side effects like infection can also occur, but most often can be avoided by following doctors orders.

Lasik is a fairly new procedure and long term data has not been studied. Some people do require the use of reading glasses as they age even though they have received lasik and achieved good results. The patient should discuss all concerns and expectations with their surgeon before the lasik procedure to ensure they completely understand the process and outcome possibilities.

What You Should Know About Exercise Induced Asthma

| Articles | January 25, 2014

Do you end up with wheezing, chough or other asthma symptoms after physical exertion? If so, you may be suffering from exercise induced asthma.

In some people, asthma is triggered exclusively by exercise and not by allergens like pollen. How does exercise bring on this condition?

Researchers point out to a number of contributing factors.

One reason is that the person may have greater than normal sensitivity to changes in temperature. It could also be that during exercise, breathing often becomes rapid and shallow, which may end up bringing more allergens into contact with lung tissues.

A third factor is that when breathing rapidly, air that reaches the lungs doesn’t have a chance to warm up sufficiently. When we breathe normally through our noses, the air that reaches the lungs warms up during the passage.

However, during exercise, the body has increased oxygen requirements. To meet it, we tend to breathe through the mouth. This doesn’t allow the air to warm up before it gets to the lungs.

Cool, dry air reaching the lungs can irritate the bronchial tubes and the trachea lining. When that happens, the body releases histamines which result in inflammation.

What can you do to reduce the risk of having an exercise induced asthma attack?

One of the best things to do is to use the bronchodilator inhaler prescribed by your doctor. Use it a quarter of an hour before exercising. This action by itself will significantly reduce the chances of an asthma attack.

Bronchodilators work by relaxing the muscles around the bronchial tubes. This cuts the chances of asthma being induced by changes in breathing patterns.

Warm up before starting on heavy exercise. This is anyway a good idea for a number of reasons not related to asthma. When you warm up, the body can better adjust to changes in breathing patterns. This reduces chances of asthma attacks. Also, ensure that you cool down after intensive exercise.

Since cold air is a major factor in triggering asthma, avoid exercising outdoors in cold weather. At the very least, use a face mask that covers your nose and mouth. Using a mask will trap warm, moist air near the nose and mouth so that the cold air can’t get directly into your lungs and trigger an attack.

Likewise, avoid outdoor exercise during pollen season. Rapid breathing during exercise can pump a lot of allergens into your lungs thus increasing your chances of coming down with an asthma attack.

Exercise induced asthma is no reason to avoid exercising, provided you take your doctor’s advice and follow some simple, sensible ground rules.

What You Should Know About Eczema

| Articles | January 24, 2014

Eczema is a form of dermatitis, or inflammation of the upper layers of the skin. The term eczema is broadly applied to a range of persistent or recurring skin rashes characterized by redness, skin edema, itching and dryness, with possible crusting, flaking, blistering, cracking, oozing or bleeding. Areas of temporary skin discoloration sometimes characterize healed lesions, though scarring is rare.

The most common types of eczemas are:

* Atopic eczema (aka infantile e., flexural e., atopic dermatitis) is thought to be hereditary, and often runs in families whose members also have hay fever and asthma. Itchy rash is particularly noticeable on face and scalp, inside of elbows, behind knees, and buttocks. Experts are urging doctors to be more vigilant in weeding out cases that are in actuality irritant contact dermatitis. It is very common in developed countries, and rising.

* Contact dermatitis is of two types: allergic (resulting from a delayed reaction to some allergen, such as poison ivy or nickel), and irritant (resulting from direct reaction to, say, a solvent). Some substances act both as allergen and irritant (e.g. wet cement). And some substances cause a problem after sunlight exposure, bringing on phototoxic dermatitis.

About three fourths of contact eczema are of the irritant type, which is the most common occupational skin disease. Contact eczema is curable provided the offending substance can be avoided, and its traces removed from one’s environment.

* Xerotic eczema is dry skin that becomes so serious it turns into eczema. It worsens in dry winter weather, and limbs and trunk are most often affected. The itchy, tender skin resembles dry cracked river bed. This disorder is very common among the older population. Ichthyosis is a related disorder.

* Seborrheic dermatitis also known as cradle cap in infants and dandruff causes dry or greasy scaling of the scalp and eyebrows. Scaly pimples and red patches sometimes appear in various adjacent places. In newborns it causes a thick, yellow crusty scalp rash called cradle cap which seems related to lack of biotin, and is often curable.

Eczema diagnosis is generally based on the appearance of inflamed, itchy skin in eczema sensitive areas such as face, chest and other skin crease areas. However, given the many possible reasons for eczema flare ups, a doctor is likely to ascertain a number of other things before making a judgment.

Dermatitis severely dries out the skin. Keeping the affected area moistened can promote healing and retain natural moisture. This is the most important self-care treatment that one can use in atopic eczema.

The use of anything that may dry out the skin should be discontinued and this includes both normal soaps, dish soaps, detergents and bubble baths that remove the natural oils from the skin.

The moistening agents are called ’emollients’. The rule to use is: match the thicker ointments to the driest, flakiest skin. Light emollients like Aqueous Cream may dry the skin if it is very flaky.

Emollient bath oils should be added to bath water and then suitable agents applied after patting the skin dry. Generally twice daily applications of emollients work best and whilst creams are easy to apply, they are quickly absorbed into the skin and so need frequent re-application.

Ointments, with their lesser water content, stay on the skin for longer and so need fewer applications but they must be applied sparingly if to avoid a sticky mess.

This information on eczema is presented as information only and should not be interpreted as medical advice. If you or someone you know suffers from eczema, consult a professional for the latest treatment options available.

What You Should Know About Discount Online Pharmacies

| Articles | January 23, 2014

People often dismiss discount online pharmacies as fraudulent sites. After all, the rising prices of medications and health care services today make it hard to believe that there are places where one can get prescription drugs at discounted prices. However, anyone can benefit from buying prescription medication from discount online pharmacies as long as one exercises caution. Read on to get the 411 on discount online pharmacies and how you can benefit from them:

An Intro On Discount Online Pharmacy

A discount online pharmacy is an Internet-based pharmaceutical company that sells drugs and prescription medications at a lower price. A discount online pharmacy can take the form of an independent online pharmacy, a subsidiary or an affiliate of a major-chain pharmacy, or an online pharmacy sponsored by socio-civic organizations. Discount online drug stores are able to sell medicines at a cheaper price because of sponsorships, networking with small pharmacies, and being subsidiaries of larger drug stores.

Benefits of Using Discount Online Pharmacy

Do not immediately dismiss an online pharmacy that sells discounted prescription medication. Some of them are real and can give you a lot of benefits in terms of your prescription needs. Some of the advantages you can get by using discount online pharmacies include:

* Cheaper prices

Prescription medications and traditional OTC drugs sell for much less in discount pharmacies compared to online major-chain drug stores. Although the price difference does not seem like much when you compare the same prescription per pack, the money you save adds up, especially if you are in for a long treatment using a particular drug.

* Wider array of choices

Since prescription medication sells for a lower price in discount pharmacies, you do not have to limit yourself to generic drugs. You can opt to spend a bit and go for prescription medication or save more and choose generic drugs.

* Convenience for less

By using discount pharmacies, you get the same convenience from ordering medications and having them delivered online for a fraction of what it might cost if you opted for a major-chain drug store.

Discount Pharmacies: Are They For Real?

Such benefits attract a huge market into using discount pharmacies; a market that unscrupulous websites and individuals seek to exploit. To find out whether the discount pharmacy you intend to use and sign up for is the real deal, keep a lookout for the following signs:

* Prescription requirement

Real and legal discount online pharmacy will require you for a prescription prior to dispensing your order. You should avoid pharmacies that have no-prescription policy regardless of how cheap they offer their prescription medicines. Selling prescription medication without a valid Rx is illegal in the United States.

* FDA approval

Veer away from pharmacies that sell medicines and drugs that have not been approved by the Food and Drug Administration. Drugs that have not been approved by the FDA may be unsafe or have components that can cause severe and fatal side effects.

* Accreditation and license

The National Pharmacy of Boards can tell you whether an online pharmacy is licensed or is in good standing. The Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations also award accreditation to online pharmacies who have satisfactorily passed stringent safety and security measures in handling drugs.

* Comprehensive service

This means that an online pharmacy provides adequate information on the drugs they sell, has an easy ordering process, and competent support staff. A verifiable, physical address and toll-free phone numbers are also signs of a real discount online pharmacy.

What You Should Know About Arthritis

| Articles | January 22, 2014

Should the person experience some muscle pain which lasts more than 2 or 3 days, there is a strong chance that one has arthritis.

Arthritis is a common disease that affects millions of people worldwide. This can be felt in the person’s joints, skin and organs inside the body. Should the person feel anything wrong, it is advisable to go straight to the doctor.

Doctors have discovered that there are over 100 types of arthritis. Given the number, the doctor will not be able to know which one is affecting the person without an examination.

There are 2 common forms of arthritis. The first is rheumatoid arthritis which is considered a chronic disease. There is inflammation in the joints caused by cartilage damage. Anyone who has this will suffer long term joint damage that will lead to chronic pain and disability. Pain is usually felt when waking up in the morning and will gradually disappear during the day.

Rheumatoid arthritis is a problem that will not go away. This happens in three stages. The first is swelling. The second is the rapid division and growth of cells. The third is when these cells release enzymes that will eat the bone causing the joint to lose shape until the person will not be able to move it anymore.

Since this is systemic disease, it can spread and affect other organs in the body. The best way to prevent is from happening is detecting it early to prevent the person from being disabled.

This can be treated with proper medication and therapy. There many drugs available that the patient can use. Some drugs offer pain relief to reduce the inflammation. Others can just do one function.

The second is called osteoarthritis. This happens more often than rheumatoid arthritis but unlike the first, there is no inflammation present. The cartilage in the joint is damaged and will eventually degenerate. Pain will slightly be felt when the person gets up but this will hurt later on during the day.

Osteoarthritis can either be primary or secondary. When it is primary, it is often associated with age. It is similar to a car where the parts have to be replaced due to wear and tear. Doctors consider this to be normal as people grow older.

The secondary type is often associated with something else that has caused this to happen. Some of these factors are an injury that took place, heredity, obesity and bone density.

Osteoarthritis can be treated with medication, exercise, weight control, joint protection, physical and occupational therapy. This is done to relieve the pain and slow the progression of the disease.

Both of these are caused by different things. The common thing between these 2 types is that joint pain can happen anywhere in the body.

Given the many medications available to treat this disease, the patient has to be aware of the side effects of each before choosing which one to use. The doctor should explain these to the person in order to make the right decision.

Arthritis and it’s different forms will not go away. Since this is an insurable disease, the best thing that the doctor and others can do until a cure if found is to help the patient ease the pain the slow the growth of the disease.
